A Day in the Life of a Japanese Capcom Game Planner working on Street Fighter Six in Osaka Japan. This is everyday Japanese work culture and work hours for a Game Developer at Capcom, one of the top video game companies in all of Japan. Founded in 1979, Capcom has been a pioneer in the game industry for over 40 years, now with about 2900 employees all working together to develop iconic multi-million selling title franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and one of my childhood games, Street Fighter. Tsuyoshi himself has working on the latest version, Street Fighter 6, for the last 5 years, as a Game Planner. Japan is interestingly unique in Game development as the job title Game Designer is rare. Instead, the job title of Game Planner really only exists though the roles are more or less the same. Most likely because in Japan, the “Designer” title is thought of as a person who focuses more on visual aesthetics like drawings or graphics, while a “Planner” is involved in the entire creation process. Today we will follow the Game Planner from morning until evening to show what he does from when he wakes up, what he does at work and what he does when he finishes work. I often receive comments and messages saying “My dream is to live in Japan.” As a Japanese living in Japan, on one hand, I am happy and honored about it, but on the other hand, I have mixed feelings too. It’s because I actually hope to leave Japan in the near future. But how did a Japanese man like me end up thinking this way? Japanese First Class Train Tour and Experience. Today, I'm riding the Saphir Odoriko Japanese Luxury Train inside of their 6 seater private room from Tokyo to Izukyu-Shimoda, a go-to vacation destination for many Tokyo residents. It's a unique train which offers premium seats with a view, in-train restaurant, and a whole lot more, which I’m going breakdown for you in this video. Saphir Odoriko is a limited express train service in Japan operated by the East Japan Railway Company, Central Japan Railway Company, Izukyu Corporation, and Izuhakone Railway. Saphir is currently quite popular, so I recommend booking the tickets in advance, especially for the private room or premium seats. For the 6 seater private room, I had to book 3 weeks in advance. This train has 2x 6-seater private rooms and 2x 4-seater private rooms and one car that is all premium green seats. This Japanese first-class train has its own restaurant, with its own menu of the perfect blend of delicate Japanese sensibilities and Italian gastronomical skill with local seasonal ingredients. A day in the life at a Japanese Bakery in Tokyo Japan. This is the working life of a typical Japanese baker and their Japan work culture. We follow the Japan baker during their work hours as well as the morning routine and after work life. Japanese bakeries are known for their unique variety of bread products quite different to their western counterparts, with items such as melon pan, an pan and all kinds of sozai breads. And although rice is a Japanese staple, bread gained in popularity during the meiji period, and in less than 2 centuries, it’s become even more popular than rice. Soft Japanese bread with all sorts of cream and curry fillings, mentaiko and yakisoba toppings is all perfectly suited for the local taste. In Japan, food safety is paramount to showcasing and serving delectable breads. And with Japanese customers equally conscious about cleanliness, it's almost culturally mandatory for breads to be individually wrapped assuring customers that each piece of bread has been properly handled and no else has touched it. Shokupan is a Japanese milk bread, popular for its milky-sweet taste, undeniable moistness and pillowy cottoncandy like softness often served as breakfast toast or sandwich bread. Different than traditional white bread, it has a richer flavorful experience. The Yudane baking method which originated in Japan is used here. Instead of being cooked, the flour is mixed with boiled water then left to cool down before use, which gelatinizes the starch in the flour resulting in a more tender bread which stays softer for longer.
